Rubrik was founded in January 2014 by Bipul Sinha (a partner at Lightspeed Ventures), Arvind Jain (ex-Google), Soham Mazumdar (ex-Facebook), and Arvind Nithrakashyap (ex-Oracle). They offer live data access for recovery and application development by fusing enterprise data management with web-scale IT, and eliminating the need to separate backup software for the company’s systems. This marks the end of a decade-long innovation drought in backup and recovery, the backbone of IT. Within minutes, businesses can manage the explosion of data across private and public clouds.

A Global Leader

The company’s annual recurring revenue increased from $ 50 million in 2016 to $476  million in 2019, and looks to be significantly higher in 2020 with a big boost from large corporations that have been forced to quickly adapt to remote work, increasing the demand for Rubrik’s services. There have been 6 funding rounds and 9 investors over the past 6 years for UIPath, leading to a total funding amount of $553 Billion from investors like Bain Capital, Greylock Partners, IVP, Khosla Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
